Stocking Guides

We know the feeling of having a new tank and not knowing what to add to it. While we recommend knowing what will be inhabiting your tank before making it, we understand things happen, that's why we made this guide to help make those choices easier:

Freshwater Stocking Guide:


Nano Tanks (5-10 Gallons)

Ideal for small, peaceful species. Regular maintenance is required due to limited water volume.

Fish: Betta fish (1 per tank), Chili Rasboras (5-6), Ember Tetras (5-6), Endler’s Livebearers (3-5), Pygmy Corydoras (4-6), Celestial Pearl Danios (6-8)

Shrimp: Neocaridina (Cherry Shrimp), Caridina (Crystal Shrimp), Amano Shrimp (2-3)

Snails: Nerite Snails, Mystery Snails (1-2), Malaysian Trumpet Snails, Bladder Snails


Small Tanks (10-20 Gallons)

Great for small community setups with schooling fish.

Fish: Guppies (3-6), Neon Tetras (6-10), Harlequin Rasboras (6-8), Honey Gourami (1-2), Dwarf Corydoras (4-6), Least Killifish (4-6), Sparkling Gourami (3-5)

Shrimp: Amano Shrimp (3-5), Bamboo Shrimp (1-2), Blue Velvet Shrimp, Orange Rili Shrimp

Snails: Assassin Snails, Rabbit Snails, Nerite Snails, Pond Snails


Medium Tanks (20-40 Gallons)

Allows for a more diverse mix of species.

Fish: Platies (3-5), Mollies (3-6), Dwarf Gourami (1-2), Kuhli Loaches (4-6), Corydoras Catfish (6-8), Zebra Danios (6-10), German Blue Rams (1-2), Cherry Barbs (6-8), Swordtails (2-4)

Shrimp: Ghost Shrimp, Vampire Shrimp (1-2), Snowball Shrimp, Tiger Shrimp

Snails: Apple Snails, Ramshorn Snails, Ivory Snails, Japanese Trapdoor Snails


Large Tanks (40+ Gallons)

Ideal for larger or more active fish.

Fish: Angelfish (1-2), Pearl Gourami (1-3), Bolivian Rams (1-2), Rainbowfish (6-8), Bristlenose Pleco (1-2), Congo Tetras (6-8), Severum Cichlid (1-2), Festivum Cichlid (1-2), Clown Loaches (3-5)

Shrimp: Amano Shrimp, Vampire Shrimp, Ghost Shrimp, Cardinal Shrimp, Giant African Filter Shrimp

Snails: Mystery Snails, Nerite Snails, Rabbit Snails, Giant Sulawesi Snails


Stocking Tips:

-Avoid overstocking to prevent water quality and temperament issues.

-Research compatibility before mixing species.

-Provide adequate filtration and regular water changes.

-Consider biotope-style setups for natural behavior and aesthetics.

 

Reptile Enclosure Stocking Guide:


Small Enclosures (10-20 Gallons)

Ideal for small reptiles, amphibians, or juvenile species.

Reptiles: Leopard Gecko (1), Crested Gecko (1), Anole Lizards (1-2), House Geckos (1-2)

Amphibians: Fire-Bellied Toads (2-3), Dart Frogs (2-4), Pacman Frog (1), African Dwarf Frog (2-4)

Invertebrates: Tarantulas, Vinegaroons, Emperor Scorpions, Isopod Colonies

Allows for more species variety and complex habitats.

Invertebrates: Giant Millipedes, Large Tarantula Species, Whip Scorpions


Large Enclosures (40+ Gallons)

Ideal for larger species and bioactive setups.

Reptiles: Bearded Dragon (Adult), Ball Python (Adult), Blue-Tongue Skink (Adult), Western Hognose Snake (1), Uromastyx (1)

Amphibians: Large Tree Frogs, Giant Pixie Frog (1), Argentine Horned Frog (1)

Invertebrates: Giant Asian Forest Scorpions, Large Centipedes, Exotic Isopod Colonies


Stocking Tips:

-Ensure proper heating, humidity, and UVB requirements for each species.

-Avoid housing multiple reptiles together unless species-specific guidelines allow it.

-Research diet and habitat needs before purchasing.
